Mory Ejabat is Executive Chairman and co-founder of Zhone and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer since June 1999. Prior to co-founding Zhone, from June 1995 to June 1999, Mr. Ejabat was President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascend Communications, Inc., a provider of telecommunications equipment which was acquired by Lucent Technologies, Inc. in June 1999. Previously, Mr. Ejabat held various senior management positions with Ascend Communications and Micom Systems. Mr. Ejabat holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an M.S. in Systems Engineering from California State University at Northridge, and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Jim Norrod, became CEO in July 2014, with 25 years of experience as Chairman and CEO Jim’s refined expertise includes development of domestic and international operations, establishment of new sales distribution channels, hiring and developing world class management teams while developing and implementing business strategies. Jim’s extensive CEO experience includes leading companies such as Infinite Power Solutions, Segway, ZAN3D, CGX, Octocom, Telebit and ITK. Mr. Norrod earned his MBA at University of Detroit and his B.S. at Oakland University – Rochester, MI
Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Treasurer and Secretary
Kirk Misaka became Zhone's Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in July 2003, in addition to his responsibilities as Corporate Treasurer, held since November 2000. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Misaka was a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG LLP from 1980 to 2000, becoming a partner in 1989. Mr. Misaka earned a B.S. and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Utah, and an M.S. in Tax from Golden Gate University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Brian Caskey joined Zhone as Chief Marketing Officer in January 2010 with a 25 year track record in global marketing, product strategy, business development and global branding. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Caskey served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for UTStarcom where he was instrumental in growing the IPTV and NGN business, as well as 3Com Corporation where he was responsible for strategic technical marketing and advanced service provider solutions. Prior to 3Com Mr. Caskey held marketing and management positions at Timeplex and GTE Spacenet. He earned his degree in electrical engineering, graduated from Wharton and completed Duke University’s Advanced Management Program at the Fuqua School of Business. He is regularly a featured speaker at telecommunications and networking conferences worldwide.
Chief Technology Officer
As Zhone’s CTO, Eric Presworsky is responsible for the development of Zhone’s Single Line Multi-Service (SLMS) architecture as well as next-generation Zhone product offerings. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Presworsky served as Assistant Vice President of Carrier Systems Development for Lucent Technologies Internetworking Systems Division, formerly Ascend Communications, Inc. Prior to Lucent, Mr. Presworsky also held numerous technical management positions at several leading telecommunications companies, including BellCore and XCOM/Level 3. Mr. Presworsky holds a B.S. in Communications from SUNY Buffalo and an M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Executive Vice President of System Products
Bruce Roe has a 20-year record of success in building and guiding teams in the development of market-leading products. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Roe held the position of vice president of research and development for Wave 7 Optics where he led R&D of the company's fiber to the premises (FTTP) and standard-based GPON products, as well as its highly successful point-to-multi-point Ethernet optical product suite. Mr. Roe also held numerous executive leadership roles with Nortel Networks, including VP and GM of Nortel's Open IP Portfolio, VP of technology and advanced software networking, and VP of engineering. Mr. Roe earned his BS.c in computer science and mathematics and his MS.c in computer science from Calgary University. He also completed programs at Columbia, Harvard, Sloan School at MIT and Stanford in strategic planning, technology and operations, finance, and innovation and change.
Vice President of Business Development
David Misunas is Zhone’s Vice President of Business Development. Previously, Mr. Misunas served as Vice President of Market Development in Lucent Technologies’ Core Switching Division. Prior to the acquisition of Ascend Communications, Inc. by Lucent, Mr. Misunas also held the positions of Vice President of Marketing and Product Management in the Core Switching Division, Vice President of Business Development, and Vice President and General Manager of Voice and Carrier Signaling for Ascend. Mr. Misunas received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served for several years on Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s research staff in dataflow parallel-processing computer technology.
Vice President of US Sales
Michael Fischer has served as Zhone’s Vice President of North American Sales since May 2004, and has over 23 years of telecommunications experience. Mr. Fischer is responsible for the development and execution of all sales in the United States geographic market. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Fischer held various positions at Advanced Fibre Communications, HickoryTech, Contel and GTE. Mr. Fischer holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Iowa State University and an M.B.A. from Drake University.
Vice President of Manufacturing
Ed Thompson has served as Zhone’s Vice President of Operations since September, 2005. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Thompson had been Vice President of Manufacturing of Paradyne Networks, Inc. since 1993. Mr. Thompson is responsible for Zhone's manufacturing facilities, all of Zhone's supply chain and contract manufacturers, and overall manufacturing quality. Mr. Thompson has implemented numerous quality initiatives, including ISO 9001 certification, customer satisfaction initiatives and delivery improvements. Mr. Thompson earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of South Florida.
