Overview

Zhone's 6238 VoIP ADSL2+ Gateway is a powerful Integrated Access Device (IAD) that provides consistent toll-quality voice services and high-speed data over the Internet for residential and business customers. With the integration of VoIP, ADSL2+ and WiFi technlogies, this gateway provides a complete solution for the service provider looking to offer cutting edge services to their discerning customers. These devices are designed to enable the offering of next generation voice services to residential and small business customers at an exceptional price point without sacrificing features or quality.

The 6238 implements the VoIP standard protocol SIP achieving out-of-the-box interoperability with the industry leading softswitches, gateways, and DSLAMs. Simply by plugging an ordinary telephone into the RJ11 port on the back of this device opens the customer to a whole new world of voice services, at a fraction of the price of traditional PSTN.

The 6238 comes with many features that meet the needs of the most discerning user including integrated routing and bridging, PPPoA, PPPoE, NAT, DHCP Server and Client, Life-line POTS, voice and data QoS, and VPN pass-through support. The product offers 2 voice ports (POTS), 4 Ethernet ports and 802.11 b/G WiFi support.
